Biomimetic Design and Material Experimentation
O-oyster explores materials, shaping, and integration with the cultivation process, drawing inspiration from the concept of a whale fall for biomimetic design. Once submerged, it achieves carbon deposition, attracts ecological communities, provides habitats, and ultimately decomposes, returning nutrients to the ocean and supporting the marine growth environment.
